In a behind the scenes video, The Voice fans can see Season 19 winner Carter Rubin sit down with coach Gwen Stefani to reflect on all that has happened in the past year. During the episode, Carter performed his original song “Horoscope.”
“It’s so weird having an audience,” he said before taking the stage. During Season 19, Covid-19 restrictions required that the show be filmed without an audience, and as much social distancing as possible. Having an audience watch him on the stage where he won seemed to bring pure joy.
Stefani sat with her first winning contestant, and they both discussed what it felt like being back. Carter is also the youngest male contestant to ever win the show.
“What the kids do, what everyone does on this show is something I could never do, so I’m so proud of him,” Stefani said in the clip.
