The next season of The Voice UK is looking uncertain, as two coaches have reportedly departed the show. Meanwhile, it’s uncertain if presenter Emma Willis will be returning, as she’s signed on to co-host the new season of Strictly Come Dancing.
The Voice UK Coaches Quit, Host’s Return Uncertain
According to The Sun, Series 14 of The Voice UK has already wrapped production, but a premiere date has not yet been set. However, Series 15 of the show will apparently not feature coaching duo Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher of McFly.
“Tom and Danny loved their time on the show, but a full series is a huge commitment,” a source said of the pair’s decision. “Tom is back and forth from New York, working on taking Paddington: The Musical over there from London’s West End — and he’s also in and out of the studio writing the eighth McFly album with Danny. As much as they would have liked to return to The Voice, sadly it’s impossible.”
Filming for the new season is expected to begin this fall, and the coaching lineup isn’t the only issue. Emma Willis, who has hosted The Voice UK since 2014, recently got a new job co-hosting Strictly Come Dancing. It has not yet been confirmed if she’ll host both shows.
Series 14 of The Voice UK, which was pre-recorded, will likely air simultaneously with the new season of Strictly. Meanwhile, the search to replace Jones and Fletcher on the show’s panel is apparently ongoing.
Last season’s coaching lineup on The Voice UK featured duo Danny Jones & Tom Fletcher, alongside longtime coaches will.i.am and Tom Jones, as well as first-time coach LeAnn Rimes. For the upcoming Season 14, Rimes will be replaced by Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland.
This will be Rowland’s first time coaching the UK version of the singing competition, although she has previous experience as a coach on The Voice Australia, appearing on the show from 2017 to 2020. Rimes was also a coach on the Australian version of the show in 2024.
