‘The Voice’ Recap: Top 5 Pull Out All the Stops for Season 24 Finals
Reading Time: 2 minutes
The Voice Season 24 returned on Monday night for the first part of the Finals, as the Top 5 took the stage to earn America’s vote. As host Carson Daly pointed out, this is the first time in the show’s history that the all five finalists have been four-chair turns. They pulled out all the stops for two songs each.
Top 5 Impress in The Voice Season 24 Finals
All five finalists delivered incredible performances during Monday’s show. That includes Team Niall’s Mara Justine, who sang an emotional rendition of Adele’s “Turning Tables” before moving on to a rock ‘n’ roll performance of “Piece of My Heart” by Janis Joplin. Her coach Niall Horan said it was “out of the stratosphere.”
Horan’s other remaining contestant, Huntley, also delivered some great performances. The last male singer left in the competition started off with a cover of “Another Love” by Tom Odell before offering a gritty rendition of “Higher” by Creed. John Legend called him a “rock ‘n’ roll preacher.”
Like Horan, Reba McEntire also had two artists in the finale. The first, Jacquie Roar, earned last week’s Instant Save. She performed “More Than a Feeling” by Boston and “Nights in White Satin” by the Moody Blues. Gwen Stefani told Jacquie, “I am amazed by you.”
Also on Team Reba is 16-year-old Ruby Leigh, who sang “Suspicious Minds” by Elvis Presley and “Desperado” by Linda Ronstadt. Legend told Ruby that she sings with “such maturity,” while McEntire said she “Ruby-ized” the Elvis song.
Last but not least, Team Legend’s Lila Forde performed “The Weight” by The Band and “Across the Universe” by the Beatles. Her coach put it plainly when he said he was “so excited for you to win The Voice.”
