The Voice will return this September for Season 30, as new coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green join the coaching panel. According to a new report, Green is still “finding his footing” in the new role.
The Voice Coach Riley Green Having Hard Time ‘Adjusting’
Earlier this year, it was announced that The Voice Season 30 will feature returning coaches Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine, as well as new coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green. Filming for the season is already underway.
According to a new report by The Sun, Latifah and Green are having very different experiences during their inaugural seasons. An insider told the outlet that Latifah has shown herself to be the Simon Cowell of the coaching panel, with a “commanding presence and brutally honest critiques.” Despite being the “strictest,” she was also apparently the “crowd favorite.”
“She is such a maternal figure to these contestants in a way the show hasn’t seen before,” the source shared. “She can give feedback that might intimidate some people but it’s said with love. She wants to help and cares a lot about the coaching aspect of the role.”
However, the source said Green is taking “a quieter approach” to the role, adding that he’s “having a harder time adjusting.” As they explained, “It’s his first big Hollywood type of gig so it’s not that he’s bad at it but you can tell he’s more shy and hesitant.”

When Does the New Season Premiere?
Season 30 of The Voice is set to premiere on NBC on Monday, September 21, at 8/7c. It will also be available to stream the next day on Peacock. In addition to coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and Riley Green, host Carson Daly will also be back.
Fans are already speculating about the coaching lineup for Season 31 of the show, which is expected to premiere early next year. The season has started filming, but the coaches have yet to be officially announced.
A source told The Sun that Riley Green is “coming back next season,” adding, “I do think production is nervous about how he’ll be perceived, if America will enjoy him as much as the other coaches who are bigger household names.”
