After disguising herself as the Seashell on The Masked Singer earlier this year, Tamera Mowry-Housley is showing her face on a new competition show for Hulu. This time, it’s all about baking.

Mowry-Housley will host Baker’s Dozen, which pits professional and amateur bakers against each other to whip up some delicious treats in the hope of being named the winner.

Tamera Mowry to Host ‘Baker’s Dozen’ on Hulu

Baker’s Dozen will feature 13 new contestants each episode, rather than the same people competing over an entire season. That means that we’ll get to see 104 contestants over the course of the show’s eight episodes. The winner of each episode will receive a cash prize and a golden rolling pin.

In the show’s trailer, Mowry-Housley describes herself as an “avid home baker.” She’s joined by co-host Bill Yosses, former White House Executive Pastry Chef. According to a press release, each episode will also feature a guest judge from the world of baking.

One look at the show’s trailer, and you’ll probably be reminded of The Great British Baking Show. However, that show only features home bakers. Baker’s Dozen challenges the amateurs to go up against professionals in three rounds of competition.

When Does ‘Baker’s Dozen’ Premiere on Hulu?

Baker’s Dozen premieres October 7 on Hulu, so you’ll need a subscription to the streaming service in order to watch. Based on the trailer, it looks like there will be quite a few emotional moments in addition to the fun of baking.

One contestant shared that he was “almost homeless” just five years ago, and he taught himself to make chocolates. People told him he wouldn’t make it, and he said, “Watch me.” Mowry-Housley said the inspiring story gave her chills.

Mowry-Housley shared her excitement over the show on Instagram, posting a previous clip and writing, “What a dream job to judge and taste amazing goodies! You’re gonna LOVE this!”

The actress has her own at-home experience in the kitchen. She and her husband Adam have a YouTube channel called The Housley Life, where they post about their family and even share cooking videos.
