Fans of The Masked Singer don’t have much longer to wait before Season 12 premieres. The show announced this week that it will be returning in September with new episodes. Rita Ora will be back for her second season as a panelist.
The Masked Singer Announces Season 12 Premiere
Earlier this week, The Masked Singer shared a social media post announcing that Season 12 of the show will be premiering on Wednesday, September 25, on FOX. Episodes will also be available to watch the next day on Hulu.
The show airs two seasons per year, so it hasn’t been very long since Season 11 wrapped up. The finale aired in May, as Vanessa Hudgens (aka Goldfish) was named the winner. Season 11 marked Rita Ora’s first time sitting on the panel as she filled in for longtime panelist Nicole Scherzinger.
Ora will be back for Season 12, alongside fellow panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, and Ken Jeong. Nick Cannon will also be back to host the show as a new group of masked celebrities takes the stage for a chance to win the coveted Golden Mask trophy.

The Season Was Pre-Taped Earlier This Year
Unlike other talent shows, The Masked Singer is entirely pre-taped. That means viewers at home don’t get to vote for their favorites, and the results are already determined before the season airs. The same is true of the upcoming 12th season.
Filming for Season 12 of the show kicked off in June of this year, as fans were able to request tickets to attend tapings. There are no longer any tapings listed through On Camera Audiences, so the season has presumably wrapped filming.
Hopefully, the show will start teasing some of this season’s new costumes very soon. Are there any celebrities you would like to see unmasked when the show returns in September? Let us know in the comments below.
