America’s Got Talent recently released a new promotional video hyping up their upcoming spinoff show, AGT: Fantasy League. The 30-second promo clip shows returning acts like Chapel Hart, Pack Drumline, and the Vardanyan Brothers competing, while highlighting an intense competition brewing between the judges.

Competition Heats Up Between The Judges on AGT: Fantasy League

The new promo video begins with Simon Cowell kicking things off by detailing the main rules of the competition which pits the acts and judges against each other.

“There’s one competition between the acts, and one between the judges,” Cowell said. “My team is the strongest.”

Judge Heidi Klum then fires back at fellow judge Howie Mandel, “My team is going to crush you.” Things clearly seem tense and competitive between the AGT veterans.

The promo then shows returning former judge, Mel B, spraying something at Cowell reminiscent of the water pouring pranks they would play on each other in previous AGT seasons. Mel B caps things off yelling, “They were brilliant alright!”

Holding down hosting duties once again is former NFL player and longtime AGT personality, Terry Crews. Crews will bring his trademark energy and showmanship to introduce the acts and cheer on the audience.

Unlike any previous AGT format, Fantasy League gives unprecedented power to the fans in the studio audience and at home. Voting opens up each week for viewers to pick which acts move forward in the competition. So the judges may have control over drafting their initial team, but the audience ultimately decides their fate.

The New Fantasy League Format Pits Judges Teams Against Each Other

While AGT has had spinoffs before with Champions editions and All-Star versions, Fantasy League offers something completely new – judges drafting their own teams to compete against each other.

Each judge starts with their own roster of ten acts drafted from a pool of 40 acts nominated by fans. Acts range from previous finalists, viral sensations, Golden Buzzer recipients, and more. The audience then votes each week on which acts move forward, strengthening some judges’ teams while weakening others over the course of the competition.

Adding to the excitement is the return of the coveted Golden Buzzer, which as always can send an act straight to the finals. However, the judges also have the power to use their buttons to steal acts from other judges’ teams. With Mel B back on the judges’ panel alongside Cowell, Klum and Mandel, the table seems set for fireworks.
