‘The Bachelor’s Matt James, Rachael Kirkconnell Shut Down Rumors They Broke Up

The Bachelor stars Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell recently shut down rumors that they had broken up. Fans had speculated that the couple was no longer together after Kirkconnell went on vacation without James last month.
Matt James, Rachael Kirkconnell Did Not Break Up
“I get it — because we’re together so much so whenever our schedules don’t line up or whenever we have our own things going on, I get where people come from,” Kirkconnell told Us Weekly of speculation that she and James had broken up.
She added that she thinks “a lot of it came from a place of love,” but added, “It’s kind of crazy sometimes when you see, you know, just how invested people are. In such a quick way, too. You’re like, ‘It’s been a week! I haven’t posted in, like, eight days, relax!’”
James said even his own mother has been concerned when the two are not together, sharing, “I’ll come home and if Rachael’s not with me, my mom’s like, ‘What’s wrong? Where’s Rachael?’ I’m like, ‘She had to go home to see her family!’ She has her mom and her dad and brother and sister [in Atlanta].”
The couple met during Season 25 of The Bachelor. Although James chose not to propose to any of the contestants, he gave Kirkconnell his final rose.

James Says Social Media Breaks Can Be Good
If fans ever think James and Kirkconnell are absent from each other’s social media pages, it might just be because they’re taking a break from being online so much. James told E! News, “I think everybody needs to take a break from social media.”
“Our lives are lived so much in front of our phones that when anybody steps out of being on their phone 24/7, people think it’s the end of the world,” James continued. “But it’s honestly the best time for people to rejuvenate and to enjoy summer.”
Kirkconnell added that although they spend a lot of time together as a couple, “it’s important for us to also be able to do things separately as well.” She also said that “there are things that should just be kept between us two.”
