America’s Got Talent has shared an early release audition ahead of Tuesday’s new episode of Season 21. The clip features a performance from 17-year-old dog trainer Olivia Befus, whose dancing dogs charmed the panel.
Teen Dog Trainer Performs in AGT Early Release
When Olivia Befus walked out onto the AGT stage with her adorable dog Zeke, the judges couldn’t contain their excitement. Olivia shared that she’s 17 years old and has always loved animals, describing her house as “a little bit of a zoo.”
Olivia and Zeke proceeded to show off an impressive routine set to “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter. Zeke spun around, ran between Olivia’s legs, jumped through her arms, and even balanced on her feet. The performance had the judges smiling the whole time.
Eventually, Olivia revealed that she actually has another dog named Phoenix, who ran on stage to show off his own high-flying moves. After the performance, Olivia shared that she taught herself to train the dogs from watching similar acts on AGT.
“I think that’s the most inspiring spot in the world,” judge Howie Mandel said of the AGT stage. “And the fact that you’re inspired, and then you come here, and you inspire millions more to do what they see here. That was beautiful.”
Mel B said she could tell that Olivia’s dogs were “clearly really enjoying themselves” as they performed, adding, “So you’ve trained them with so much love and so much care. And that melts my heart, so thank you.”
Meanwhile, Simon Cowell told Olivia that he thinks she has “a real gift” for training dogs. The judges gave her and her pups four “yes” votes to move on in the competition.
What did you think of Olivia’s act? How does it compare to other dog acts we’ve seen on AGT over the years? Let us know in the comments below.
