‘Talent Show’ Stars React to Simon Cowell Hollywood Walk of Fame Dedication
Simon Cowell is living his best life after receiving a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony on Aug. 22, at The Dolby Theater in Hollywood, was adorned with alumni of American Idol, America’s Got Talent, and X Factor. Cowell also renewed his multi-year contract with NBC as executive producer and judge on AGT. It’s safe to say, Cowell is having the best week EVER.
The 58 year old music mogul looked on as Season 1 American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson took to the podium and expressed her immense gratitude. Clarkson enthusiastically jumped at the chance to sing her praises to Simon stating, “I said yes right away because I was so excited to be here for this, because literally we were right here 16-years ago when this man helped change my life.” In 2002, Clarkson won the title of Idol at this very location.
The star studded crowd of support included, British X-Factor winner Leona Lewis, AGT’s Grace Vanderwaal, the cast of AGT-Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel, and former Idol alum Katherine McPhee, along with many more! Cowell was surrounded by superstars who’s careers were literally handcrafted by Cowell himself. Co-Host, Mel B tweeted her congrats to her fellow colleague.

One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson and Fifth Harmony’s Ally Brooke were in attendance, and shared a special moment at the commemoration. Brooke posted about the event on her Insta stories, gushing, “LOVE SIMON!” Cowell helped shape the careers of both Tomlinson and Brooke on X Factor. Tomlinson will join Cowell as a judge on Season 15 of X Factor UK.
Cowell approached the podium and jokingly said,”Before we start, I would just like to ask you: why did this take so long?” Cowell continued,”I remember the first time I came to Hollywood, and that was a long time ago, thinking it was the most magical place. And now I’m looking down at this. It is so surreal I cannot tell you. And I was thinking of writing down who do I thank. Well, I have to thank the people who gave me a start.” Cowell humbly expressed his thanks to his friends, family, and colleagues from around the world.

This event took place right around the time it was announced that Cowell signed a multi-year deal with AGT. This deal will allow Cowell to continue to influence and shape the music superstars of this world.
