Susan Boyle Is Back on ‘AGT’ This Week: Spoilers, Predictions and Wildcard

Reading Time: 4 minutes
The second Americaās Got Talent live show of the season is here, and seven out of twelve acts will advance to the semifinals. The big announcement today is that the OG of ‘Got Talent’ Susan Boyle, will be back for a special AGT performance. So let’s take a look at who will be performing this week!
‘AGT’ Quartefinals Week 2 Linup
The 12 acts competing for seven spots in the semi-finals are:
- teen singerĀ Charlotte Summers
- singer and guitarist Chris Kläfford
- singer and rapperĀ Joseph Allen (Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer)
- light-up dance groupĀ Light Balance Kids (Ellie Kemper’s Golden Buzzer)
- contortionist and dancerĀ Marina Mazepa
- Ndlovu Youth Choir
- opera and danger actĀ Nick & Lindsay
- singer-songwriterĀ Robert Finley
- stand-up comedianĀ Ryan Niemiller
- violinistĀ Tyler Butler-Figueroa, Violinist (Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer)
- dance groupĀ V Unbeatable (Dwyane Wade’s Golden Buzzer)
- WILDCARD mentalist duoĀ The Sentimentalists
There are more potential frontrunners on this weekās lineup than last weekās when it was pretty much justĀ Kodi Lee. Based on what weāve seen from fan reactions, there are seven acts here who I could see in the finals, several of whom have a shot to win. But will things play out in the predictable way, or are we in for some surprises?
Quarterfinals Week 2: Power Ranking
The two acts who are pretty much locks to make it through this week areĀ V UnbeatableĀ andĀ Chris KlƤfford. Like Kodi, both have seen near-universal acclaim so far this season. Yes, even the crowd who normally refuses to vote for singing acts canāt seem to resist Chris! V Unbeatable seem like the biggest challenger to Kodi at the moment, but I can see Chris as a dark horse, similar toĀ Shin LimĀ last season. There was virtually no doubt Shin would be in the finals, but there were a couple other acts who seemed to have a better shot at winning.
HadĀ Light Balance KidsĀ andĀ Charlotte SummersĀ been on last week, I think they both would have easily cracked the top five, but this week will be more difficult. Both will likely end up in the shadow of another act to a degree. Fellow dance group V Unbeatable may outshine Light Balance Kids and fellow singer Chris KlƤfford may outshine Charlotte. Itās more likely than not theyāll both still make it through, but I wouldnāt be surprised to see one of them in need of the Dunkinā Save.
Ryan NiemillerĀ and Tyler Butler-FigueroaĀ both have a good shot at advancing since theyāre not only very talented, but also the only acts in their respective categories this week (and in Tylerās case, the entire season). While the latter characteristic also applies toĀ The Sentimentalists, their less-than-perfect skills will probably do them in. As for our other duo,Ā Nick & Lindsay…well, letās just say if a strong danger act like Bir KhalsaĀ landed in the bottom three last week, I donāt have much hope for them.
My Predictions
Iām going predict the final act to advance this Wednesday will be theĀ Ndlovu Youth Choir. I beleive theyāre a strong act compared to the other remaining performers, at least when it comes to voters. Robert FinleyĀ is great, but older singers donāt tend to do well onĀ AGT, andĀ Marina MazepaĀ will likely be dismissed as a weird novelty act. Joseph Allen did get a Golden Buzzer from Howie, but that may actually prove to hurt him more than help. The fan reaction to him getting the Buzzer wasnāt as positive as most of the other ones this season and a lot of people were underwhelmed.
‘AGT’ Guest Performance: Susan Boyle
In addition to the competitive performances on Tuesday, Britainās Got Talent star and Americaās Got Talent: The Champions finalist Susan Boyle will be singing on Wednesdayās results show! Many Brit’s were shocked to learn that she pulled out of the upcoming Britain’s Got Talent: Champions, but at least we get to see her this week on AGT.
