The second America’s Got Talent live show of the season is here, and seven out of twelve acts will advance to the semifinals. The big announcement today is that the OG of ‘Got Talent’ Susan Boyle, will be back for a special AGT performance. So let’s take a look at who will be performing this week!

‘AGT’ Quartefinals Week 2 Linup

The 12 acts competing for seven spots in the semi-finals are:

  • teen singer Charlotte Summers
  • singer and guitarist Chris Kläfford
  • singer and rapper Joseph Allen (Howie Mandel’s Golden Buzzer)
  • light-up dance group Light Balance Kids (Ellie Kemper’s Golden Buzzer)
  • contortionist and dancer Marina Mazepa
  • Ndlovu Youth Choir
  • opera and danger act Nick & Lindsay
  • singer-songwriter Robert Finley
  • stand-up comedian Ryan Niemiller
  • violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa, Violinist (Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer)
  • dance group V Unbeatable (Dwyane Wade’s Golden Buzzer)
  • WILDCARD mentalist duo The Sentimentalists

There are more potential frontrunners on this week’s lineup than last week’s when it was pretty much just Kodi Lee. Based on what we’ve seen from fan reactions, there are seven acts here who I could see in the finals, several of whom have a shot to win. But will things play out in the predictable way, or are we in for some surprises?

Quarterfinals Week 2: Power Ranking

The two acts who are pretty much locks to make it through this week are V Unbeatable and Chris Kläfford. Like Kodi, both have seen near-universal acclaim so far this season. Yes, even the crowd who normally refuses to vote for singing acts can’t seem to resist Chris! V Unbeatable seem like the biggest challenger to Kodi at the moment, but I can see Chris as a dark horse, similar to Shin Lim last season. There was virtually no doubt Shin would be in the finals, but there were a couple other acts who seemed to have a better shot at winning.

Chris Kläfford on ‘AGT’ Judge Cuts

Had Light Balance Kids and Charlotte Summers been on last week, I think they both would have easily cracked the top five, but this week will be more difficult. Both will likely end up in the shadow of another act to a degree. Fellow dance group V Unbeatable may outshine Light Balance Kids and fellow singer Chris Kläfford may outshine Charlotte. It’s more likely than not they’ll both still make it through, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of them in need of the Dunkin’ Save.

Ryan Niemiller and Tyler Butler-Figueroa both have a good shot at advancing since they’re not only very talented, but also the only acts in their respective categories this week (and in Tyler’s case, the entire season). While the latter characteristic also applies to The Sentimentalists, their less-than-perfect skills will probably do them in. As for our other duo, Nick & Lindsay…well, let’s just say if a strong danger act like Bir Khalsa landed in the bottom three last week, I don’t have much hope for them.

My Predictions

I’m going predict the final act to advance this Wednesday will be the Ndlovu Youth Choir. I beleive they’re a strong act compared to the other remaining performers, at least when it comes to voters. Robert Finley is great, but older singers don’t tend to do well on AGT, and Marina Mazepa will likely be dismissed as a weird novelty act. Joseph Allen did get a Golden Buzzer from Howie, but that may actually prove to hurt him more than help. The fan reaction to him getting the Buzzer wasn’t as positive as most of the other ones this season and a lot of people were underwhelmed.

Susan Boyle’s comeback on ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’

In addition to the competitive performances on Tuesday, Britain’s Got Talent star and America’s Got Talent: The Champions finalist Susan Boyle will be singing on Wednesday’s results show! Many Brit’s were shocked to learn that she pulled out of the upcoming Britain’s Got Talent: Champions, but at least we get to see her this week on AGT.
