Dancing on Ice recently announced that former Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse will be joining the judging panel for Season 14. Mabuse won two seasons of Strictly and also appears as a judge on the UK version of The Masked Dancer.
Who Is New ‘Dancing on Ice’ Judge Oti Mabuse?
Mabuse was born in South Africa and initially studied civil engineering before pursuing ballroom dancing. She won the South African Latin American Championship eight times, before moving to Germany.
In 2015, Mabuse joined Let’s Dance, Germany’s version of Dancing with the Stars, as a pro dancer. The same year, she joined Strictly Come Dancing. Mabuse first won in 2019 with partner Kevin Fletcher, and then again the next year with partner Bill Bailey. She’s the only pro to win twice in a row.
Mabuse has appeared on several other TV talent shows, including The Greatest Dancer, Celebrity Masterchef, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, and The Masked Dancer UK. She also worked as a choreographer for the UK and Ireland production of The Cher Show.
Mabuse married Romanian dancer Marius Iepure in 2014. Her older sister, Motsi Mabuse, is also a dancer. In 2019, Motsi joined the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel.

When Does Season 14 Premiere?
Season 14 of Dancing on Ice will premiere January 16, 2022, on ITV. Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are returning as hosts, along with judges Christopher Dean, Jayne Torvill, and Ashley Banjo. Former judge John Barrowman will not be returning. Mabuse will take his spot on the panel.
Although similar shows Skating with Celebrities and Skating with the Stars bombed in the United States with only one season each, Dancing on Ice has lasted on and off for fifteen years in the UK. The show pairs celebrities with professional figure skaters.
The Season 14 celebrity cast has already been announced, and it includes Pussycat Dolls singer Kimberly Wyatt, The Vamps member Connor Ball, and Paralympic athlete Stef Reid. Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Brendan Cole is also competing, which should be interesting.
