Simon Cowell’s Attempted to Change This Rule on ‘AGT: Fantasy League’

Simon Cowell recently tried to alter the rules on America’s Got Talent: Fantasy League to his advantage, drawing the irritation of fellow judge Mel B. The Spice Girl called out Cowell for suggesting he get unlimited Golden Buzzers despite that going against the show’s guidelines.
Simon Cowell Wants Unlimited Golden Buzzers
In Fantasy League, each judge gets one Golden Buzzer per episode to steal an act from another coach’s team. But according to Mel B, Cowell floated changing the rules to give himself endless Golden Buzzers since he’s the boss.
“Simon was wanting to change the rules when he had his buzzer,” Mel B said. “He said ‘I’m going to press it again and again.’ I was like, ‘you can’t change the rules,’ and he’s like, ‘but I’m the boss!’ And I’m like, ‘oh yeah, you are, but you can’t change the rules!'”
While likely said jokingly, Mel B stood firm against Cowell trying to give himself unlimited chances to swipe acts through a powerful perk.
Cowell’s Antics Further Rub Mel B the Wrong Way
Mel B made it clear Cowell trying to bend the rules did not sit well with her. She said his dramatics have been irritating her more frequently on Fantasy League.
“Now I’m sitting right beside him, and he irritates me sometimes,” Mel B said. “When I did America’s Got Talent before…I was sitting between Howie and Heidi and felt very comfortable.”
Without fellow judges creating a buffer on Fantasy League, Mel B attributed Cowell’s bothersome behavior to their close proximity at the table. However, she joked the upside is not having to throw water as far to prank him.
Though they clash often, Mel B said they ultimately patch things up.
“We argue, and we say sorry, and then we hug, and then we fight again. You know, just a normal relationship.” Mel B said.
Fantasy League Brings Out Competition Between Judges
With the judges pitted against each other managing their own fantasy teams this season, the show’s competitive spirit is at an all-time high.
Mel B described Fantasy League as a “souped-up on-steroids version of AGT.” The extra twists and turns have ratcheted up the drama and tension between the celebrity coaches.
Cowell trying to bend the rules in his favor combined with Mel B’s refusal to back down exemplifies the cranked-up competition between the big personalities on Fantasy League. Their feisty dynamic keeps fans on their toes waiting to see what fireworks erupt next.
