America’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell recently spoke about Season 21 of the show in an interview with TV Insider. The new competition will kick off on June 2, and Cowell made sure to tease some of the best acts fans can expect to see this year.

Simon Cowell Teases America’s Got Talent Season 21

When speaking to TV Insider, Simon Cowell teased that Season 21 of AGT will feature an act who previously auditioned “about three or four years ago and did well, but I said to them, ‘Your act’s too small.'” This performer apparently returned and “nailed it.”

“I would guarantee, off the back of this, he is going to have a residency in Vegas,” Cowell predicted, going on to tease of his Golden Buzzer acts, “I’ve got two. I can’t give them away. They’re really, really good. I always get nervous. ‘Are we going to run out of talent?’ And then every year somebody just comes along, and you just go, ‘Wow, I’ve never seen that before.'”

Cowell also addressed this season’s new round of the competition, dubbed the Judges Callbacks, in which a group of acts who made it through auditions will perform for the judges again for their chance to make it to the live shows.

“Each judge has chosen a number of acts they want to see. I think I’m seeing six,” Cowell explained. “And then I might put all of mine through, or I might put one through. Whoever we feel has done enough to merit being in the live show.”

Will Cowell Ever Leave the Show?

TV Insider also asked Simon Cowell how much longer he sees himself as a judge on America’s Got Talent, to which he responded, “At some point, realistically, I’ve got to hand over the reins. That’s going to happen; the question is when. But the show is going to live on.”

Cowell is also a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, which is currently airing live Semifinals episodes for Series 19. The music mogul famously made a name for himself as a judge on American Idol, before judging The X Factor in both the U.S. and the UK.

AGT Season 21 will premiere with the first two-hour episode of auditions on Tuesday, June 2, on NBC. It will be available to stream the following day on Peacock.
