Simon Cowell Earns Britain’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer

This week’s new episode of BGT included an audition from a performer called The Hacker, who started his performance by calling Simon Cowell’s phone. He informed the judge that they would be trading places for the audition.

So Cowell stepped onto the stage, while The Hacker sat in his chair, wearing a red outfit and a mask. While playing the role of judge, The Hacker’s voice was disguised as more high-pitched. When asked what he’d do with the prize money, Cowell said he’d “just keep it to myself.”

The Hacker helped Cowell with his audition, bringing out various props and instructing him on what to do with them. Cowell successfully wrote down a word The Hacker was thinking of, and then he correctly predicted an object that everyone in the auditorium was thinking of.

The judges gave their critiques, and then The Hacker chose to hit the Golden Buzzer for Cowell. After the confetti rained down, the judge joked that they should “double the prize money.” Unfortunately, this probably doesn’t count as an official Golden Buzzer, but it made for a funny moment.

Pop Voices Choir Earns Six ‘Yes’ Votes

This week’s new episode of BGT also included an audition that caught the judges by surprise while they were walking the red carpet before the show. Pop Voices Choir, featuring nearly 300 singers between the ages of 8 and 92, began performing “Mr. Blue Sky” by Electric Light Orchestra.

Amanda Holden told the group that she “felt really tearful” when they started singing, calling their performance “absolutely gorgeous.” Fellow judge Alesha Dixon called it “a lovely surprise” and a “colorful, joyful burst of loveliness.” Bruno Tonioli remarked that their audition warmed him up in the cold weather.

The judges were so impressed by the group’s performance that they decided to make history by awarding Pop Voices Choir not four but six “yes” votes, as hosts Ant & Dec were included in the decision. Simon Cowell said that had never happened on the show before.

Talented Teacher Shows Off Powerhouse Voice

Another memorable performance from this week’s show came from Louise Hall, who introduced herself as a teacher and a mother. She began performing, showing off a soulful voice, but judge Simon Cowell stopped her to ask if she had a different song prepared. He advised her to “just let go.”

Louise ended up singing “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” from Dreamgirls. It was a powerhouse rendition that had the audience going wild. Bruno Tonioli praised “the clarity in the projection of your voice.” Amanda Holden called the performance “absolutely brilliant.” Louise earned four “yes” votes to move on.

She wasn’t the only singer to wow the judges during this week’s show. Drag queen Jasmine Rice also took the stage to perform opera, blowing the panel away. Her performance even moved Tonioli to tears. Alesha Dixon said there was “nothing to not like” about her performance. Jasmine earned four “yes” votes.
