Shakira joined Jimmy Fallon for a fun game on The Tonight Show in which they tried to replicate TikTok dances after only one viewing. It’s appropriate, since Shakira has a new talent show premiering this month called Dancing With Myself.

Shakira Does TikTok Dance Challenge with Jimmy Fallon

Fallon’s game is called the “Watch It Once TikTok Challenge.” He and Shakira watched a dance video once and were challenged to recreate it from memory. Their performances were then compared to the original.

“Just once, really?” Shakira asked after they watched the video. Fallon proceeded to bend the rules by asking if they could see it one more time, joking that it should be called the “Watch It Twice TikTok Challenge.”

Both Fallon and Shakira tried out the dance, and then they played their performances side by side to compare them with the original. Both of them got pretty close, although it should come as no surprise that Shakira’s looked a little bit smoother.

The second TikTok dance they watched was from Shakira herself. Fallon tried his best to recreate her robotic moves, but he couldn’t compare to the originator of the dance.

‘Dancing With Myself’ Premieres Later This Month

Shakira’s new talent show Dancing With Myself premieres May 31 on NBC, after the two-hour premiere of America’s Got Talent Season 17. The singer is joined on the show by Nick Jonas and Liza Koshy as dance creators, while Camille Kostek hosts.

The show is inspired by the trend of social media dances on platforms such as TikTok. Contestants will be isolated in pods as they learn dance routines and put their own twists on the creators’ choreographed moves.

Shakira told Fallon that most of the contestants aren’t professionals, but the competition allows them to show “their true passion for dance.” She said the show features people from various fields, including doctors, construction workers, and a surprising number of dentists.
