Selena Gomez made a surprise appearance at Coldplay’s recent concert in Pasadena to sing their collaboration “Let Somebody Go.” H.E.R., who opened for the band, also joined them for the performance.
Selena Gomez Joins Coldplay During Concert
On Sunday, Coldplay performed at the Rose Bowl in California. During the show, frontman Chris Martin invited a pair of fans on stage with the band. They sat down with him at the piano as he performed “Let Somebody Go.”
Before performing, Martin pointed out that the band recorded this song with Gomez. It was released in 2021 and appeared on Coldplay’s ninth studio album, Music of the Spheres. Martin said they “never get to sing it with her” and apologized “if it doesn’t sound quite as good as the record.”
Part of the way through the performance, the crowd went wild as they saw Gomez walking on stage. She joined them in singing the song. Eventually, H.E.R. also showed up to lend her own voice to the song and play guitar.
Gomez shared clips from the performance on her Instagram stories, writing, “Thank you @coldplay @hermusicofficial for an amazing night!”

Mzansi Youth Choir Also Performed with the Band
During the America’s Got Talent Season 18 finale last week, Terry Crews announced that finalists Mzansi Youth Choir, a singing group from South Africa, had been invited by Coldplay to perform during their San Diego concert.
During the Finals, Mzansi Youth Choir had performed “My Universe,” which Coldplay recorded with BTS. The performance clearly impressed the band. AGT recently posted about the singing group’s performance at Coldplay’s concert on Instagram.
Mzansi Youth Choir joined the band to perform “Fix You.” The group wrote of their time on AGT and the opportunity to perform with Coldplay, “This has been a dream come true.”
