During Monday night’s new episode of American Idol Season 24, host Ryan Seacrest appeared on stage without shoes after contestant Kyndal Inskeep’s own barefoot performance. After the show, Seacrest shared why he chose to ditch his shoes.

Ryan Seacrest Goes Barefoot on American Idol

During Monday’s Songs of Faith episode of American Idol, contestant Kyndal Inskeep took the stage to sing “Nothing But the Blood of Jesus.” Kyndal was barefoot during the performance, and afterward, host Ryan Seacrest approached her with bare feet of his own.

When asked why she likes to sing barefoot, Kyndal replied, “It’s grounding.” Seacrest joked that he felt like he “lost two inches” of height by taking his shoes off. After the show, the host spoke to Entertainment Tonight about his barefoot moment.

“Well, I just saw Kyndal, and I thought, I’ve never hosted a show in my bare feet. I want to feel grounded, I want to feel that,” Seacrest said, adding, “I spent 42 bucks. I want to show them off. I just had them done, so it’s good it wasn’t next week.”

Seacrest Denies Being on Tinder

During a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune with a “Love Is in the Air” theme, Seacrest joked about being “lonely,” adding, “I love ‘Love Is In The Air.’ I am so excited to watch all of these shows. And I’ll be on Tinder tonight, so I can find it.”

Apparently, we weren’t meant to take Seacrest’s comment literally. Seacrest told Entertainment Tonight that even his mom called him, saying she read about him using Tinder. The TV host has denied using the dating app.

“No, I’m not on Tinder. Why is anybody — people keep asking if I’m on Tinder,” Seacrest said during a recent episode of his radio show. “Well, I’m not. I think I made a joke.”
