South London-based queen, Baby, unexpectedly exited the RuPaul’s Drag Race UK competition. Following her abrupt leave from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, the queen has spoken out about her choice to leave the competition.

Baby was suffering from frequent panic attacks and bouts of unhappiness that affected her performance on a daily basis. The drag queen hid all the problems but proved to be too much to handle for Baby in episode five of the show forcing her to make the difficult decision.

Baby Breaks Silence Over Her Unexpected Exit

The drag queen has officially released a statement, days after leaving the biggest drag competition in the country. It’s clear that it wasn’t an easy choice for the performer to make, since she’s revealed it’s been tough on her. Nonetheless, she acknowledges that it was for the best.

For those who may have missed it, Baby last performed on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK on the fifth episode of season four, on Thursday, October 20. After finding herself in the bottom two with Dakota Schiffer, the two performed a lip sync battle.

After the intense lip-sync battle, Baby announced her unexpected decision, which prevented RuPaul from picking a winner. The drag queen announced her departure from the series, before RuPaul could pick a queen to eliminate.

Within the episode, Baby explained that she wanted to put her mental state above all else. She received support from fans and fellow drag queens. Four days after the show, she went to address what led to her decision in a heartfelt post on her Instagram stories.

“The emotions that came out on episode five were a very small window into what was actually going on for me and the reality is, I was really unwell,” Baby wrote. “A lot of what you saw on camera was me ‘switching it on’ and I’d gotten to a point where that was no longer sustainable for me and my well-being.”

The drag queen admitted that she won’t be able to instantly fix her mental health issues but is currently doing better. She assured fans that she is learning how to manage her emotions to continue performing as a drag queen.
