Rita Ora came under fire this week for promoting an expensive MRI scan on Instagram. Commenters complained that the average person wouldn’t be able to afford the scan, which reportedly costs over $2,000.
Rita Ora Criticized for Promoting MRI Scan
Earlier this week, Ora posted photos of herself promoting Prenuvo, which offers full-body scans to detect health conditions. The singer shared that her mother’s history with breast cancer has motivated her to be “proactive and not reactive with physical health.”
“I was so impressed by the incredible technology and the Prenuvo doctors who talked me through my results, and advised me on what I can do to take care of myself better,” Ora wrote. “I was walked through every step with support and guidance.”
The Daily Mail reports that the scan costs $2,499. Instagram users in Ora’s comments caught on to the fact that the scan wasn’t affordable, and they called her out for it. As one person wrote, “That’s great Rita but how affordable is this for ordinary people? It’s probably not even accessible for the general public.”
“Wow, advertising proactive scans for the wealthy and privileged, a full body MRI is something the vast majority of people can’t afford. I wonder if you paid for your scan?” wrote another commenter.

Kim Kardashian Was Also Slammed for Promoting the Scan
Ora isn’t the only celebrity who has come under fire for promoting Prenuvo on their social media. In August of last year, Kim Kardashian shared a similar post, telling fans that she “had to tell you all about this life saving machine.”
“She is sending a message to her wealthy friends. We just happened to see the post,” wrote one commenter. Another wondered, “Why don’t you fund opportunities for others to gain access to this?”
Kim Kardashian isn’t the only member of her famous family to undergo such a procedure. On The Kardashians, the star’s mother Kris Jenner also underwent a full-body MRI scan ahead of her 67th birthday.
