Reading Time: 2 minutes
Nick Jonas is still looking for his first win on The Voice tonight with artist Rachel Mac. As we wait for the big results which will be left for the last few minutes of the show, the pair have already made history in another way.
Nick Jonas and Rachel Mac Make History on ‘The Voice’ with Rockstar Duet
The Foo Fighters have never approved a song for someone to sing on The Voice. The legendary rock group finally came through and allowed Jonas and Rachel to perform “Best Of You” at the finale. Jonas confessed that the song is one of his favorite songs of all time and that he couldn’t wait to sing it with Rachel.
“My wife is a big fan, she can’t wait to meet Rachel,” Jonas said while practicing with Rachel.
Rachel has been very open about how big of a fan of Jonas’s she has been since she was a little girl. She gushed about being able to perform with one of her idols during The Voice finale.
“Being able to sing with Nick is such an honor,” Rachel said. “I grew up listening to him and watching him.”
Nick thought about wearing a hat for the performance to honor Rachel’s favorite fashion statement that she has been sporting all season long. Rachel actually thought about not wearing a hat so it was an even trade-off. They looked super stylish up on stage together and sounded beautiful. It was a whole new take on such a classic rock song.
This performance was bittersweet because Jonas will not be returning as a coach on the show next season. Ariana Grande was announced as the Season 21 coach that will be taking Jonas’s place. Don’t rule out seeing Jonas coach in futures seasons. The Voice has a rotating panel of coaches so you never know who will step in or out or return to the show.
