The upcoming CBS musical game show Superfan has announced six new stars set to appear in the first season. Fans of these artists will be competing to prove they’re the star’s biggest supporter. The lineup includes Shania Twain, LL Cool J, and Gloria Estefan.
‘Superfan’ Announces Season 1 Celebrity Lineup
Deadline reports that Superfan‘s first season will also include appearances by Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, and Pitbull. The show will have six one-hour episodes, each featuring one of the aforementioned celebrities.
The show’s contestants will compete to prove themselves as the ultimate superfan of whichever artist is featured that week. The artist will then choose one superfan to win a prize. It’s not clear at this time exactly what the prize entails, although it’s been described as “the ultimate experience with the featured artist.”
The show will be hosted by executive producer Keltie Knight and Kate Burleson of CBS Mornings. Production will reportedly begin this Friday in Los Angeles. CBS ordered the series in February of this year. A premiere date has yet to be set.
It’s Joining a Host of Other Musical Game Shows
Superfan isn’t the only musical game show fans are enjoying. Several other shows are combining the concepts, including I Can See Your Voice, in which contestants must guess whether singers are actually good or not.
There’s also Name That Tune, which is a modern take on the classic game show in which contestants are challenged to identify songs played by the in-house band. (This season is a celebrity edition.) Last year, Wayne Brady hosted Game of Talents, in which contestants tried to guess people’s talents based on clues.
Now we can add another show into the mix. Hopefully we’ll learn even more about Superfan‘s format (as well as a Season 1 premiere date) very soon.
