The Voice alum Morgan Wallen is ready to get back on the stage. The “Last Night” singer has officially been cleared to sing and talk again after strict vocal rest that delayed his tour.

Morgan Wallen Says He’s Cleared to Sing Again

On June 7, Wallen shared an Instagram post, where he can be seen smiling on a boat, beside friend Eric Church. He subsequently went to his Instagram stories, posting a solo pic that show him slightly smiling.

“Also, the doc cleared me to talk and sing…we back,” he wrote alongside the snap.

At this time, Wallen has yet to elaborate on his Instagram Story comment. Therefore, there has yet to be an announcement regarding concerts that had been delayed.

On May 9, the “Whiskey Glasses” revealed that he was suffering from vocal fold trauma. According to Penn Medicine, such strain occurs when “the muscles and vocal cords are injured through overuse.”

“I’m just gonna go ahead and get straight to it,” he said in an Instagram video. “I got some bad news from my doctors at the Vanderbilt voice center yesterday. After taking 10 days of vocal rest, I performed three shows last weekend in Florida and by the third one I felt terrible.”

The Voice standout added that his doctors told him that he injured his vocal cords, so he needed to go on vocal rest for six weeks. He was basically told to not talk at all unless necessary. Apart from his vocal cord strain, Wallen stated that he also damaged his LAT muscle.

Luckily, Wallen’s vocal cord has healed. He’s now allowed to talk and sing again, which means that he’s all set to grace the stage like before.

He is Yet to Announce His Touring Schedule

Before Wallen’s vocal cord rest, Wallen postponed four of his shows. The “Me To Me” singer announced that he lost his voice on April 23, delaying his show in Oxford, Mississippi in the last minute. The following night, be revealed that his three remaining shows in Michigan, Illinois and Nebraska were also called off.

Wallen came back on stage on May to perform in Florida. However, this attempt has worsened the condition of his throat even more.

“[The doctors] told me that if I do this the right way that I’ll get back to 100%. They also said that if I don’t listen and I keep singing, I’ll permanently damage my voice. So for the longevity of my career, this is the choice I had to make. I hate it but I love you guys,” he said.

While it’s clear that Wallen is back, the singer has not revealed any details regarding the continuation of his tour. However, if Wallen will follow his original schedule, then he’s set to appear on June 22 in Chicago.
