Melora Hardin Follows ‘The Office’ Co-Star Kate Flannery to ‘Dancing with the Stars’
Every year, Dancing With The Stars strives to cast celebrity contestants who have up and coming projects, but they tend to include some familiar faces for nostalgia as well. This season, we’ll see Melora Hardin, also known as Michael Scott’s boss/lover on The Office as a “throwback” contestant. But she wasn’t the first person from The Office cast to join DWTS.
In 2019, Kate Flannery, who plays Meredith in the series, was on DWTS. I know she’s no Jim, Michael, or Dwight, but we’re not overlooking Meredith here, okay?
Flannery actually did pretty well on DWTS. She and her partner Pasha Pashkov finished their season in seventh place, so really they didn’t do horribly.
Since Flannery wasn’t as big of a character as Hardin was, there wasn’t a huge uproar when her name was announced on the cast list. Since The Office, Flannery has been on shows like Last Comic Standing, Celebrity Name Game, Hollywood Game Night, and played minor roles such as the janitor in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Currently, she plays the role of Jacqueline Carlyle in The Bold Type on Freeform.
Melora Hardin’s Next Role? “Boss of the Ballroom”
During Good Morning America’s meet the cast announcement, Hardin showed the world that she might already have some moves. If I had to give the mirrorball to one contestant right now, she’d get it for sure. Although it was a ballet move, if she has danced in any way before it might help her in the competition.
As a fan of The Office, I’ll admit that Flannery’s (Meredith) DWTS run slipped under my radar. I know, say what you want. But, I cannot wait to see Jan, Melora Hardin, tear up that dance floor. Season 30 of Dancing With The Stars premieres on ABC on September 20 at 8 p.m. ET. Make sure you don’t miss Jan become boss in the ballroom!
