Mel B Confirms Spice Girls Reunion Tour Is A Go
Reading Time: 2 minutes
There have been a lot of talks of the Spice Girls heading out on a reunion tour, and Mel B took to The Late Late Show this week to set the record straight.
The America’s Got Talent judge confirmed the highly-anticipated tour is, in fact, happening! However, it won’t quite be a full reunion, as Victoria Beckham – aka “Posh Spice” – doesn’t seem to be involved. But Mel did confirm “Baby Spice” Emma Bunton, “Sporty Spice” Melanie Chisholm (Mel C), “Ginger Spice” Geri Halliwell, and her “Scary Spice” self will all be part of the upcoming production!

We’re thrilled to see this iconic girl group getting back together, but of course we have to wonder if and how this new venture will affect Mel’s position as a judge on AGT. While she didn’t confirm any official dates or timeline for the tour, there’s always the possibility of performances being scheduled for AGT taping days (which generally occur in March, April, and August-September). A few months ago, Mel did confirm her current AGT contract would expire at the end of October, so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if it gets renewed (though it’s worth noting Simon did say she has a place at the judges’ table for the forseeable future if she wants it).
Some fans have also been concerned over how the new tour may affect Mel’s PTSD treatment, but it seems like it’s actually pretty flexible (she’s attended therapy in both Los Angeles and the UK) so hopefully she won’t need to go as much by the time the tour starts or she can find options to continue her treatment on the road.
While we still don’t know when exactly the Spice Girls reunion tour will begin, but we do know that Mel is currently taping America’s Got Talent: The Champions, which is set to start airing on NBC in January 2019.
