“Bad For Me” is a soulful ballad in which Trainor sings about detaching from someone she loves, acknowledging that their relationship isn’t good for her. She and Teddy Swims combine their voices beautifully throughout the song.
“Please don’t make promises that you can’t keep,” the pair sings in the chorus. “Your best intentions end up hurting me / No matter what, I’ll love you endlessly / I know we’re blood, but this love is bad for me.”
The magical video finds the singers surrounded by regal columns, flowers, and butterflies. Trainor wears a few different dresses, including a turquoise gown, a sheer white frock decorated with flowers, and a shorter pink style. The looks are accented by bright eye makeup.
Trainor’s New Album Is Out Later This Year
Earlier this week, Trainor announced that her new album, Takin’ It Back, will be released on October 21, 2022. This is her first studio album since 2020, when she released Treat Myself and the holiday album A Very Trainor Christmas.
Since the release of her last album, Trainor has become a mother. In February 2021, she welcomed a son named Riley with her husband Daryl Sabara, whom she married in 2018. Last year, Trainor was a judge on the E! competition show Clash of the Cover Bands. Before that, she previously judged on The Four: Battle for Stardom.
Trainor also shared this week that she and Teddy Swims will appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Friday night, June 24, to perform their new song “Bad For Me” together for the first time.
