LeBlanc and Perry co-starred on Friends as roommates Joey Tribbiani and Chandler Bing. Both actors were Emmy-nominated for their performances in the 10-season sitcom. Sadly, Perry passed away on October 28 at the age of 54.
“It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life,” LeBlanc wrote in his tribute to Perry. “It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never.”
LeBlanc ended his post by writing, “Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love.” He also added a sweet joke to the caption, telling Perry, “And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”
Perry passed away on October 28. He was reportedly found in a hot tub and appeared to have drowned. Following an autopsy, Perry’s cause of death was listed as “deferred,” pending additional investigation.

The statement goes on to say that the cast “will say more, as and when we are able.” They closed it by saying, “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
