Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon’s Daughter Monroe Honors Mom in New Ad

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey’s 10-year-old daughter Monroe appears in a new commercial for kids’ clothing brand OshKosh B’gosh. Not only does the ad show off some cute clothes, but it also pays tribute to Monroe’s mom.
Carey gave birth to Monroe and her twin brother Moroccan when she was married to the twins’ father, Cannon. This new ad takes us back to 1980, when Carey herself was just 10 years old.
Mariah Carey’s Daughter Honors Her in New Ad
In the new commercial, Monroe plays her mom as a 10-year-old. She wears a pair of overalls from the brand as she writes in a notebook and catches a butterfly on her finger. Monroe, as young Mariah, also talks about her dreams of becoming a famous singer.
“The melodies that live in my head, someday they’ll live at the top of the charts,” Monroe says, as she sings into a hairbrush in front of her vanity mirror. “The songs in my heart will touch millions of hearts.”
The outfit Monroe is wearing in the video reportedly pays homage to a pair of OshKosh jeans Carey wore in the music video for her 1990 song “Someday.” In the clip, Monroe says she dreams of “inspiring generations of little girls to hit their high note.”
The commercial is part of OshKosh’s “Today is Someday” campaign, which also honors Muhammed Ali and Outkast, depicting them as children. The aim of the campaign is to inspire kids to dream big.

Monroe’s Dad Posts About Her on Instagram
Cannon and Carey have yet to post about Monroe’s new ad campaign on social media, but Cannon has certainly been posting a lot about his kids recently on Instagram. The star has seven children, the oldest being twins Moroccan and Monroe with Carey.
Cannon posted shots with the twins on his Instagram story this week, as well as pictures with his other kids. That includes his son Golden and his daughter Powerful Queen, both of whom he shares with Brittany Bell. He also recently welcomed twin boys, Zion and Zillion, with DJ Abby De La Rosa.
The most recent addition to Cannon’s family is son Zen, whose mother is model Alyssa Scott. After receiving criticism for welcoming four children with three different women in the span of a year, the Masked Singer host seems proud to show off his growing family.
