Luke Bryan Brings ‘American Idol’ Finalist Gabby Barrett Up On Stage
Mel and I famously botched our prediction of who was going to win the rebooted season of American Idol. We totally slept on Maddie Poppe and we thought Gabby Barrett was going to win. She did not, of course, but she’s still got a lot of fans out there. Luckily, she has her old friend Luke Bryan to give her a boost in popularity.
American Idol judge Luke Bryan was at the Pittsburgh stop of his What Makes You Country XL tour at Heinz Field and he brought on Pittsburgh native Gabby Barrett. They sang a duet together and then he turned the stage over to her. She sang Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing, which she sang on the season finale, to 50,000 fans. That was sure nice of Luke.
Heinz Field, THATS MY KINDA NIGHT! ? A crowd of 50,000. We did a duet, then he let me do a song by myself. Just me and y’all. Thank you so much ❤ @lukebryan & thank you so much to everyone for making my dreams come true. FULL DUET and Solo song from tonight will be on YouTube TOMORROW! I have no more words.
It’s interesting because I have a feeling that Gabby is going to do very well even though she didn’t win. Though I’m sure Maddie and Caleb Lee Hutchinson will have great careers, I see Gabby becoming the next country pop queen.
