While Little Mix is on hiatus, group member Perrie Edwards is apparently in the studio working on new solo music. Singer Kamille recently shared some inside scoop about what fans can expect from Edwards’ new stuff.
Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards Working on Solo Music
Singer Kamille, who has co-written many songs for Little Mix and is considered their unofficial fifth member, has been working with Edwards, alongside producer Fred Again and songwriter Steve Mac. She recently spoke to OfficialCharts.com about what the star has in store.
Kamille said it’s “early in their discovery of what they want to do,” but added that “it’s going to blow everyone’s minds.” Edwards has apparently been “worried and insecure” about her talent, which Kamille couldn’t believe.
“She’s incredible,” Kamille said. “She doesn’t even know how good she is, and that’s one of the most beautiful things about Perrie; she’s so humble. It’s been so exciting to be making music with her. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it all done.”
Edwards is also currently busy being a mom to her son Axel, who is almost a year old. Earlier this year, she announced her engagement to Axel’s father, soccer player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Group Announced Their Hiatus Last Year
Little Mix got their start on The X Factor UK, winning Series 8 in 2011. The girl group went on to release six studio albums together before Jesy Nelson left in 2020. The remaining three members continued performing together before announcing a hiatus in December 2021.
The break began after the group finished up their 2022 Confetti Tour. Although they emphasized that they are not breaking up, all three remaining members seem to have begun pursuing solo projects. Last month, Leigh-Anne Pinnock started her own Twitter account.
Meanwhile, the group’s third member Jade Thirlwall signed a record deal with RCA Records earlier this year. Hopefully we’ll be able to hear some new music from all three singers very soon.
