American Idol judge Lionel Richie recently returned to the stage in Pittsburgh after a health scare caused him to postpone shows on his new Sing Along All Night tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.
Lionel Richie Returns to Stage After Health Scare
Last week, Richie kicked off his tour with a stop in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Unfortunately, the 77-year-old singer had to cut the show short, as he was feeling dizzy during the performance. He ended up postponing the next two shows on the tour.
However, Richie appears to be feeling better now, as he took the stage during Tuesday’s tour stop in Pittsburgh. As he told the crowd, “I had you worried there for a minute, huh? You have no idea what I have been through in the last 24 hours, listening to my friends tell me their advice on what I should be doing.”
Just a few days prior, Richie’s ex-wife Brenda Harvey Richie updated fans on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Thanking everyone for their concern! Lionel is OK and will be back on the stage.”
According to the announcement that two shows would have to be postponed, Richie was advised by doctors “to rest and return to full health” before performing again, adding that the singer was “heartbroken” to miss the shows.

Richie Was Taken to the Hospital
During his Saint Paul tour stop, Lionel Richie took a seat on the stage while performing “Dancing on the Ceiling,” telling the crowd, “When you’re feeling dizzy, sit your ass down.” After sitting at the piano to perform “Three Times a Lady,” he took an intermission.
Eventually, Richie’s saxophonist Dino Soldo told the crowd that Richie was not feeling well enough to finish the show. According to TMZ, the singer was met by paramedics backstage, and he was transported in an ambulance to the hospital as a precaution.
