Exploring the ocean extremes of Vancouver, Netflix is once again serving a wondrous wildlife documentary series. Island of the Sea Wolves is a visually fascinating film accompanied by LEGO Masters host Will Arnett’s exquisite voice.
Netflix Launches Island of the Sea Wolves
Island of the Sea Wolves documents a year of life on Vancouver Island. The series delves into the place’s innate beauty. Directors Jeff Turner and Chelsea Turner wanted to capture and tell a story involving the island’s wildlife species. Also, the documentary focuses on how the ocean cultivates life, from bald eagles to sea wolves.
“Their home is a vast outpost of volcanic rock, creating a giant Island filled with wonders. Surrounded by the North Pacific, it feeds life across its lands,” Arnett says in the trailer.
Island of the Sea Wolves captures the spontaneity of wildlife. During the creation of the series, the production crew had to film multiple scenes at the same time. Within nine eventful months, the viewers can witness a big flood and storm brought about by fall. In addition, aerial and close-up shots of endangered animals were pleasantly taken, showing their candid fauna.
The docuseries premiered on October 11 and is now streaming on Netflix.
The Ecology Docuseries Features Will Arnett
To exceed expectations, the directors recruited an excellent voice talent in Will Arnett. Arnett’s modulated voice flawlessly narrated the scenes, taking viewers into the beautiful shores and rain forest of Vancouver. Subsequently, Jeff Turner describes “Island of the Sea Wolves” as their most exciting docuseries to date, especially with the Canadian actor’s excellent tone.
“He was great. I think he really enjoyed it and he’s a great storyteller,” Turner said.
In the past years, Netflix has exhibited enthusiasm in nature and ecology documentaries. Hopefully, the company will invest more on these kinds of series where viewers can appreciate and learn from nature.
For those who may not know, Arnett has previously voiced the characters Bojack Horseman, LEGO Batman, and more. This is surely not his first rodeo when it comes to voice acting.
