Kelly Clarkson is not afraid to show America which artists she thinks are worthy to be in the Top 9 on The Voice. She got so excited by Dana Monique’s performance that she decided to clear her table and literally throw all of her possessions at the pride of Houston, Texas.
Dana Monique’s Performance is so Good, Kelly Clarkson Throws Literally Everything
When the performance started, viewers could hear Clarkson commenting about how much she loved Dana’s song choice. Dana strutted up to the center of the stage making her presence known. She commanded the room with her stunning outfit and captivating stage presence.
After her mind-blowing performance of “Free Your Mind,” Carson Daly commented that Dana was getting stuff thrown at her.
“God, I threw anything near me at you” Clarkson said once the camera panned to her.
Clarkson was clearly excited and the object throwing was meant as the highest form of flattery by the “Stronger” singer.
“My whole dream in life was to sing [backup] for someone like you,” Clarkson added after the performance. “You have just, such a gift, it is crazy. The soul, the rawness, the attitude, you’re amazing.”
Clarkson even said that Dana is her spirit animal. Dana had a total superstar moment during the performance when she tossed the hat off her head. She ended her performance full of unmatchable vocals with a power stance and look on her face as if to say “yeah I just slayed that.”
“I’m just gonna say it’s an honor to be your coach,” her coach Nick Jonas added. “You just blew that out of the park, it was unbelievable. You’re incredible!”
Something tells us that the former cruise ship performer will be getting music opportunities left and right after The Voice and is a clear frontrunner in the competition.
Jonas genuinely looked humbled to have such a talented artist on his team. This is also the perfect time to point out that the starfish brooch attached to his blazer was the coolest accessory for the very first live show of the season.
