Kelly Clarkson Hosts Olympics Opening Ceremony
Clarkson took to social media on Friday to share that she was on her way to the Opening Ceremony for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. The singer was on hand to co-host the event alongside NBC Sports anchor Mike Tirico and former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning.
“I’m excited. I’ve had a lot of fun this week with Mike and Peyton,” Clarkson said. “I’ve had such a good time with NBC, all the people here. Everybody’s been working so hard behind the scenes.”
Clarkson added that the Opening Ceremony would be a “celebration of life,” praising the people of Paris for their “cool way of living and celebrating everything.” She shouted out actor Michael Douglas for recommending a restaurant where she ate dinner Thursday night.
The singer also posted a photo of herself wearing a blazer that matches those worn by Team USA athletes for this year’s Opening Ceremony. The jacket, designed by Ralph Lauren, features red piping and a Team USA patch.

Snoop Dogg Carries the Olympic Torch
Snoop Dogg also had an important role to play in the Summer Olympics on Friday, as he was one of the final people to carry the Olympic torch through Paris ahead of the Opening Ceremony. Snoop said he was reminded of Muhammed Ali lighting the cauldron during the 1996 games in Atlanta.
“It was emotional for all of us to see the champ holding that torch and walking up there. This is my own version of it,” Snoop said of the honor, according to the Washington Post. “I don’t want to get too emotional, but I know that this is special.”
Snoop will also be a correspondent for NBC during the Olympics. In addition to providing commentary on the games, he’ll also explore Paris and hang out with the athletes. Will you be watching? Let us know in the comments below.
