Kelly Clarkson Is Going To Be A Judge…On ‘The Voice’
Kelly Clarkson is returning to her talent competition roots as a judge but not on the show you’d imagine. Rather than taking a spot next to Katy Perry on the reboot of, (the show that made her famous), she will be joining the crew over at The Voice next year.

We all remember back in the mists of time on the first season of American Idol when Kelly Clarkson won and then became a huge pop star. She was definitely one of the show’s biggest success stories, her terrible spin-off film From Justin to Kelly notwithstanding. Kelly has spent the last few years concentrating on her family and having a bunch of kids but she’s ready to return to TV. You would think that she would join the reboot of American Idol. Lord knows they need judges. But instead she opted for the swivel chairs and permanent five o’clock of Adam Levine and The Voice. Apparently, she’s been in talks with them for years. Kelly said,
“Would it have been awesome to come back to the show that started me and help give someone that start? Yes! But that doesn’t mean I can’t do the same thing on The Voice. That’s my goal. I want to have someone on my team, whether they win or not, to have a successful career after being on the show.”
It helps that her husband and manager Brandon Blackstock also manages Blake Shelton. So, chances are they can spend more time together. American Idol approached her but she had already committed to doing The Voice. It’s a shame because there would have been something very satisfying about her going back as a judge.
