Jimmie Allen Was Surprised at His ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Success

The country singer visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show and discussed his time on the hit dance competition with guest host Mickey Guyton. After showcasing what he learned on Dancing With The Stars, the Allen shared that he never expected to make it to seventh place on the hit show.
Allen was a contestant on Season 30 of Dancing with the Stars and placed seventh during the season. Allen scored the lowest points four out of the eight weeks he competed. The singer said he was surprised he made it as far as he did during Season 30.
“I was just trying to make it to Disney Week,” Allen said during the interview.
Luckily for Allen he made it far enough in the competition to perform during Disney Week. Allen says he is a huge fan of the magical platform. During his week four performance the singer danced to Donny Osmond’s “I’ll Make a Man Out of You,” from the Mulan soundtrack. Allen and his dance partner Emma Slater danced the Paso Doble. They also danced Jazz to Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy.” The pair scored a 30 out of 40. Allen still holds a slight grudge that the judges didn’t applaud how hard he worked to perform with a hook covering one hand.
Allen showcased his Cha-Cha-Cha for the audience, proving he remembered his time on the show. Season 30 of Dancing With The Stars was a rollercoaster ride for the father of three. While competing on the show Allen had to rush to be by his wife Alexis’s side while she gave birth to their daughter Zara James Allen. After welcoming his new bundle of joy, Allen hit the dance floor during Grease Night.

The “This Is Us” singer is currently on his Down Home tour. Allen said he named the tour after his upcoming single. Fans can expect to hear his new song soon. The singer says that the song was written in honor of his dad. Allen has been open about the death of his father, who he says introduced him to country music. American Idol Season 19 winner Chayce Beckham was announced as an act that will join Allen on his tour.
For now fans can see the American Idol alum hosting the Academy of Country Music Awards on March 7.
