Jennifer Hudson Collaborates with Robert Glasper on New Song “Out of My Hands”

Jennifer Hudson is featured on producer Robert Glasper’s latest single “Out of My Hands” released late last night. The song is a track from Glasper’s Black Radio III album. This marks Hudson’s return to music since her original song “Here I am” appeared on the Respect movie soundtrack.


Hudson’s soulful voice is paired with an uptempo beat that is sure to take over radio. Fans are calling it the song of the summer, as they are ready to have their windows down and dance along to the beat.

The Grammy award winner returns to form as she sings about heartbreak and fighting for love. Singing about relationships comes easy for the Dreamgirls actress. Her chart topping hits “Spotlight” and “If This isn’t Love” have similar themes.

This is Hudson’s first time collaborating with Glasper. Black Radio III dropped yesterday. This is the jazz pianist’s 12th studio album. His first Black Radio concept album won Best R&B Album at the 2013 Grammy Awards.


With the new feature, fans are hoping for a new album from Hudson. The singer hasn’t released an album since her 2014 JHUD album. Her third studio album entered the charts at number 10. Hudson’s previous two albums debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Although fans met Hudson on the third season of American Idol. The singer came in seventh place, but has become one of the most successful Idol alums in history.

Hudson quickly shot to stardom after her groundbreaking role as Effie White in the musical Dreamgirls. She went on to win the Oscar award for Best Supporting Actress. Since her Oscar win Hudson has gone on to star in movies such as Cats and The Secret Life of Bees.


Recently fans scolded the academy for snubbing Hudson at this year’s Oscar nominations. Insiders believed that the former Voice coach was unfairly left out of the Best Actress category for her role as the queen of soul, Aretha Franklin, in the movie Respect.
