While sitting down With Jimmy Kimmel Live, Hudson admits that she loves her job as a talk show host. Apparently, for Hudson, serving as the frontwoman of The Jennifer Hudson Show is the best work she’s taken so far.
“I think it is the funnest job I have ever had. It’s so fun and I’ve had a lot of jobs,” she said. “You know because the audience is always amazing. The energy lifts me up. That’s all I ever need when I come out.”
According to Hudson, she the studio is her “happy place.” The dance and song numbers are some of her favorite parts of the show. In addition, the talk show is obsessed with the variety of outfits she gets to witness every taping episode.
“Everything that I live for, I get to live it every day,” she said.
The Jennifer Hudson Show kicked off its premiere season back in September 12, 2022. Since then, the syndicated daytime talk show has given viewers numerous insightful episodes, guesting people from various career paths. Its very first episode was historic, having Hudson and music mogul Simon Cowell in one frame after their beefy past on American Idol.
She Shares Her Daily Routine
During the same interview, Hudson shared a glimpse of what she does each day prior to hosting the talk show. For her though, it is significant to have her “inner peace moment” before braving her hectic schedule on set. Basically, she sets her mind by talking a walk, eating breakfast, then going to Starbucks. After she’s done with her morning ritual, she goes to the studio, one she calls her “class.”
“I call it class because I’m learning this whole talk showing. Although I will talk your head off but being in a talk show space is a whole new world,” she said.
After lunch, she makes an effort to ride her bike. This is interesting because normal people and some guests actually get to see an EGOT winner riding a bike randomly in the streets.
Coming from a “singing position,” Hudson admits that she was weirded out by her talk hosting role at first. Nonetheless, it didn’t take her a long time to adjust to the fact that she needs to “talk some more” for the job.
