Howie Mandel Hands Over ‘Deal or No Deal Island’ Hosting Gig to Joe Manganiello

Deal or No Deal is officially back! After years, NBC hit game show Deal Or No Deal has a return to TV set. Alongside the new spin off is a brand new host.
Howie Mandel Steps Away from Deal or No Deal, Employs Joe Manganiello as Host
America’s favorite guessing game show, Deal or No Deal is ready to return in 2024. The new spin off, Deal or No Deal Island will have “bigger money, and heroine challenges.” In turn, the show’s host and contestants will be in “an undisclosed island location a world away from civilization.”
On September 27, Deal or No Deal Island posted a promotional video on Instagram, featuring fan favorite host, Howie Mandel. Aside from talking about the new series, Mandel admitted that he won’t be the host.
“Wait. Uhm, I’m a germaphobe people, I can’t, I don’t even shake hands, this is going to be like bugs and snakes and…,” Mandle said. “I can’t go, I can’t do it, I can’t host it.”
In turn, Mandel was tasked with finding a new host of the series.
“They’re going to need a host, someone adventurous, someone who loves games, someone who’s good looking, like me, not your average Joe, Joe Manganiello,” he said.
The video ends with Mandel asking Manganiello “deal or no deal” for the opportunity. Deal or No Deal Island will premiere on NBC in 2024.
Mandel Poked Fun at Manganiello’s Divorce from Sofia Vergara on America’s Got Talent
This announcement definitely comes as a surprise to many that have seen the America’s Got Talent live shows. Mandel has been quite unhinged on the series, commenting multiple times on Vergara’s fresh divorce from Manganiello.
For those who may not remember, during the first live show, Mandel joked stating that she was “looking for eligible bachelors” after her split. In a later show, there was a segment where Vergara was attached to a lie detector and judges could ask anything to her. Following multiple questions, Mandel asked her if she “see[s] anybody in the audience tonight that you’re interested in?” Vergara was visibly shocked by the question, before she left stage. Since Vergara was smiling as she did it, it’s safe to say she wasn’t actually offended by Mandel’s question.
Vergara, Manganiello Split in July
Manganiello filed for divorce from Vergara on July, with his lawyer Lauren Wasser filing legal documents citing irreconcilable differences. The separation reportedly occurred on July 2, 2023.
Although the public may never know the exact reason for their split, sources claim that it may have been about the decision to have kids, as well as “different attitudes,” as the “true versions of themselves started showing.”
Manganiello and Vergara tied the knot in November of 2015 after meeting the previous year. They released a joint statement following the announcement of their split.
“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the couple told Page Six. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”
The couple does not have any children together. Vergara, who turned 51 earlier this month, already has a grown son named Manolo, who is 31. Manganiello, who is 46, does not have children.
