Heidi’s Golden Buzzer: Who Will It Be and Why Wasn’t It Glennis Grace?
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Heidi Klum was on The Tonight Show on Friday and spoke to host Jimmy Fallon about this season of America’s Got Talent. She revealed she thinks her Golden Buzzer could take home the win this season! Heidi’s Golden Buzzer is the only one that hasn’t aired so far. But she has some ideas as to why:
This person has the total package…this person will be a superstar. I think that’s why they haven’t aired my Golden Buzzer yet.
She also described the rivalry between the judges:
We kind of have this inside thing, we’re fighting about who is going to win this. We’re very competitive. We always have this little bet going on inside.
But some fans seem to think that Glennis Grace deserved Heidi’s Golden Buzzer. The 39-year-old singer impressed the judges last week with her rendition of “Run to You” by Whitney Houston. Twitter and Facebook blew up shortly after, comparing Glennis to the late icon herself. Fans of the show were vocal in saying that this was a snub and she should’ve gotten a Golden Buzzer. Though she made it through to the next round, she will not be automatically sent to the live shows.

It’s interesting how the judges’ opinions and the public opinion are usually in line, but not always exactly the same. The judges are thinking about ratings and the total package, not just who’s the most talented. And a lot of that is subjective to be honest. Producers on these competition shows seem to prioritize younger talent as well. This year, The Voice crowned its youngest winner ever with 15-year-old Brynn Cartelli. In addition to that, American Idol’s Top 5 this season were all under the age of 21.
So if these and the other Golden Buzzers are any indication, we’ll see Heidi use hers on another singer who is likely 20-30 years younger than Glennis. But we won’t know until next week! AGT is airing a special “Best of Auditions” episode tomorrow night.
