Girl Named Tom Hits No. 1 on iTunes After ‘The Voice’ Finale Performance

Girl Named Tom performs on 'The Voice' live final part 2

The Voice Season 21 winners Girl Named Tom had a reason to celebrate on Tuesday night, and not just because it was one year since they won the show in 2021. After performing their song “One More Christmas” during the Season 22 finale, the track reached No. 1 on iTunes, along with their Christmas album.

Girl Named Tom Tops iTunes Chart After The Voice Finale

The siblings went live on Instagram Tuesday night after their finale performance aired. They shared that their song “One More Christmas” was currently at No. 2 on the iTunes song chart, behind Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”

Meanwhile, their album of the same name had already hit No. 1 on the album chart. The group released the eight-song project in November of this year. On Tuesday night, they appeared on The Voice Season 22 finale to sing the title song.

Eventually, the group shared on Instagram stories that the song had finally reached No. 1, ahead of Carey’s Christmas classic. As they wrote, “THIS IS UNREAL! & we know it doesn’t just happen… thank you all for listening!”

‘One More Christmas’ Is Dedicated to the Group’s Father

The group shared a screenshot of the two No. 1 spots on Instagram, writing, “To: Papa, Love: Your Kids.” The song “One More Christmas” was written for their father, who sadly passed away from cancer in January of this year.

During the group’s live video on Tuesday night, Joshua Liechty called it “a song that we had to write,” which was also “scary to write.” He said they’re proud of how the song turned out, and hope it makes their dad proud as well.

Girl Named Tom is currently on a Christmas tour with a cappella group Pentatonix. During their live, they teased that they have “a lot of songs that we’re sitting on” and “can’t wait to record.”
