Geneviève Côté is making history as the first professional noise maker to compete on the AGT stage in AGT: Fantasy League. Her unique talent instantly won over judge Howie Mandel during her audition on Canada’s Got Talent. Mandel was so impressed, that he hit the Golden Buzzer sending Geneviève straight to the live semi-finals.
Geneviève Côté Can Imitate Nearly 300 Different Sounds
Geneviève was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. From a young age, she took note of the noises and voices around her. Geneviève has said some of her biggest influences were Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, Looney Tunes cartoons, and the comedy group Rock et Belles Oreilles.
Her passion for impersonating sounds led her to pursue noise-making professionally. Before appearing on CGT, Geneviève performed at comedy festivals, theaters, and corporate events across Quebec. She even had her own one-woman show called “L’Inimitable” to showcase her skills.
On stage, Geneviève takes audiences on an imaginative journey using her voice. She effortlessly jumps between jungle ambient sounds, animal noises, movie sound effects, instruments, and operatic vocals. Her seven-octave vocal range allows her to mimic everything from helicopters to T-Rex screams. Judges compared her to a mix of Celine Dion and Quentin Tarantino.
Howie Mandel called Geneviève a “unique phenomenon in the world” whose talent can be exported globally. Now as the first professional noise maker on AGT: Fantasy League, Geneviève has a chance to showcase her skills to audiences worldwide.
Geneviève Côté Wrote Her Own Book
Geneviève’s impact extends beyond stages and screens. With her foray into the literary world in 2022 with her book, “Penses-y 2 fois,” she delves into the realm of humor, exploring the nuances of cosmetic surgery risks, further showcasing her multifaceted talents.
Amid her pursuit of a career in entertainment and literacy, Geneviève is also a 47-year-old single mother. Balancing the demands of being a full-time performer while nurturing her role as a devoted mother, Geneviève’s journey echoes the challenges and triumphs of many individuals striving to follow their passions while shouldering the responsibilities of parenthood.
