Former ‘BGT’ Star Molly Rainford to Compete on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’
Molly Rainford is going from one talent show to another this year, as she signs on to compete in Strictly Come Dancing. The singer previously competed on Britain’s Got Talent, reaching the Final of Series 6 in 2012.
BGT‘s Molly Rainford Joins Strictly Come Dancing
Rainford is joining the cast for Series 20 of Strictly. In addition to BGT, Rainford is also known for her role as the title character in Nova Jones, a TV series on children’s network CBBC. Nova is an “intergalactic popstar,” according Rainford’s Instagram bio.
“I’m so excited to be part of Strictly Come Dancing, I’ve watched it for years and can’t wait to meet the pros and the others taking part!” Rainford said of her casting in a statement. “I can’t wait to learn the moves and get dancing!”
The star also posted the news on her Instagram account, writing, “I already know it’s gonna be an experience of a lifetime.” She added, “get me to the dance floor.”
Other stars announced for this year’s competition include Paralympic swimmer Ellie Simmonds, comedian and actress Ellie Taylor, and journalist Kaye Adams.

Rainford Wowed the Judges at 11 Years Old
Rainford was 11 years old when she auditioned for Series 6 of Britain’s Got Talent in 2012. She sang “One Night Only,” wowing the judges with her voice. Rainford made it all the way to the Final, where she performed “Ave Maria.”
She finished the competition in sixth place and became the youngest finalist in the show’s history. After the show, judge Simon Cowell and Sony Music awarded Rainford with a scholarship to the Sylvia Young Theatre School.
Now 21, Rainford has released an EP called Commitment, as well as a Christmas EP. In the past, she also appeared as a presenter on CBBC’s Friday Download and as Chloe on the TV series Millie Inbetween. Recently, Nova Jones has been renewed for two more series.
