Val Chmerkovskiy Pays Tribute to DWTS Partner Xochitl Gomez
Earlier this week, ahead of Tuesday’s new episode of DWTS, Chmerkovskiy took to Instagram to share several photos of him and Xochitl rehearsing. He wrote in the caption, “This has easily been one of my favorite seasons on DWTS, and I’ve been a part of many.”
“It’s been a real honor to be given such a powerful talent to guide,” Chmerkovskiy wrote of his partner. “Xochitl is a force, and I’m looking forward to seeing her shine for many many years to come. Imma say I taught her some ballroom.”
Xochitl commented on the post, saying she’ll miss Chmerkovskiy, but adding, “U AINT GETTIN RID OF ME THAT EASY.” She said she would babysit his son Rome, whom he welcomed with his wife and fellow pro Jenna Johnson earlier this year.
One fan commented, “why does this sound like a goodbye post.” Other people agreed, with one writing that it “kinda scared me.” Others thought it was just Chmerkovskiy sharing his appreciation for Xochitl as the season winds down.

The Pair Is Headed to Next Week’s Finals
On Tuesday night, Xochitl and Chermkovskiy performed two dances in the Season 32 Semifinals. Their Samba and Waltz both earned perfect scores from the judges, putting them at the top of the leaderboard.
The judges announced a shocking twist at the end of Tuesday’s episode, revealing that none of the remaining five couples would be eliminated. Instead, all five of them will be competing in next week’s finale.
In the finale, each couple will perform one redemption dance in a style they’ve already performed, as well as a Freestyle dance. The episode will air on Tuesday, December 5, on ABC and Disney+. Who do you think will win the Mirroball trophy this season? Let us know in the comments below.
