Fans Demand Katy Perry Be Removed From ‘American Idol’ After Viral Video

The popular singing competition show, American Idol, has been making headlines recently, but not for the reasons the producers had hoped. Fans of the show are now calling for the removal of judge Katy Perry after a video of her acting like a cat in a tight-fitting leather suit went viral.
Fans Want Katy Perry Out of American Idol
In the video, which was posted on the official “Idol” Instagram account, Perry, alongside fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie, is seen engaging in banter about her outfit. Richie playfully remarks, “We have Catwoman with us,” to which Bryan jokingly refers to Perry as “Katy Purry.”
Seemingly unperturbed, Perry proceeds to mimic cat-like movements, crouching and extending her leg while holding her hands up like paws. Her playful antics did not sit well with many fans of the show.
Disappointed viewers quickly flooded social media platforms with comments expressing their frustration and calling for Perry’s removal. Some fans stated that they “can’t stand” her behavior any longer, while others deemed her actions ridiculous and stupid.
One person even claimed to have lost respect for Perry. The backlash against the judge seems to be growing, with fans feeling that her behavior detracts from the seriousness of the competition.
Last Season Was Controversial For The Judge
This is not the first time Perry has faced negative feedback during her tenure on American Idol. Earlier in the season, she faced criticism for seemingly mom-shaming a contestant who quit the show to spend more time with her children. Perry’s dismissive attitude towards another contestant’s elimination also fueled the dissatisfaction among fans.
Interestingly, Perry was briefly replaced by Alanis Morissette, which temporarily alleviated some of the fan backlash. Hopeful that Morissette would stay on permanently, fans even started a petition urging the “Ironic” singer to continue as a judge.
However, recent comments from Perry suggest that she feels betrayed by the show’s producers, claiming that they have not shown her “unconditional” loyalty and that they intentionally edited footage to portray her as the “nasty” judge. As the calls for Perry’s removal grow louder, one thing is clear: the focus should always remain on the incredible talent showcased on American Idol.
Why are the fans going crazy? First it used to be the auditions that were terrible that viewers got a kick out of, Anyone remember william hung? He became famous for his ridiculously terrible audition. Now they are worried about Katty being nasty? What happened to the nastiness of Simon Cowell that everyone loved. This political correctness is getting ridiculous 🙄
This article is just plain bs.. sorry but there is always people that won’t like another person for one reason or another. Fact is this article is just made up bs… Social media is not being flooded with people calling for Katy to be removed, no more than Lionel or Bryan.
That is ridiculous, she’s one of the best judges ever. This grp of judges are terrific together, the compassion and encouragement they share with the contestants is remarkable. I’m a long time fan that disagrees…grow up people…
Honestly this has to be just about the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in a very long time. With the exception of these very specific articles making the claims that fans want Katy Perry removed from the show, I’ve seen nothing across social media suggesting that fans are calling for her removal!
I dont see nothing wrong in the video..Because she acted like a Cat? They want her fired?..I dont watch the show anymore, My Mom still watches, So I see it in passing.
