Last week, it was announced that Emma Slater would be returning to the ballroom for Season 34 of the show, partnered with comedian Andy Richter. The cast is currently in rehearsals for the first week of the competition, which will air September 16 on ABC and Disney+.
On Sunday, Slater posted a short TikTok video in which she stands in the rehearsal room, seeming to take everything in. “Thank you #DWTS for the journey of a lifetime,” she wrote in the caption, adding that “you never know when your time is up so I’m gunna love it every single day.”
Fans in the comments expressed their concern, with one fan writing that the post felt “like a goodbye video.” Another commenter wondered if Richter had pulled out of the show before the premiere, leaving her without a celebrity partner this season.

Fans Speculate About Slater’s Future on the Show
While some fans were worried that Slater’s post signified a goodbye, others suggested that the dancer is simply acknowledging that she might not be asked back for another season, so she’s making sure to soak up her time in the ballroom this year.
One TikTok commenter pointed out that Slater’s ex-husband, Sasha Farber, is not among the Season 34 cast. This might have served as a reminder for her that none of the pros are guaranteed to be asked back every season.
“I think the older pros are just starting to suspect that they’re gonna start bringing in younger pros and phasing out some older ones,” wrote a fan on Reddit. “It makes sense to me why someone like Emma – who doesn’t get gifted with the best partners – would worry about it … So she’s probably just appreciating every moment.”
