Dancing with the Stars pro Emma Slater recently addressed rumors that she might be leaving the show, making it clear that she has no plans to depart. Slater has been a pro on the series since 2013.
Is Emma Slater Leaving Dancing with the Stars?
Emma Slater was recently a guest on the SiriusXM podcast Three Questions with Andy Richter, hosted by her DWTS Season 34 celebrity partner. During the conversation, Slater addressed reports that she might not return to the ballroom for another season.
“I was like, ‘What rumor?’ They said, ‘Are you retiring this year?’” Slater shared, according to Deadline. “And I could see how a rumor like that would be starting, because they’re looking at me like, ‘She’s the old girl.'”
The 37-year-old dancer went on to say that she has had “the most incredible time” appearing on the show over the years, adding that she doesn’t intend to leave yet and hopes to “go through it as long as I can go for.”
“I would like it to be on my decision, I think,” she continued. “But I’ve decided that I’m going to expect to be there, and if and when they say I’m not invited anymore, I’ll conquer that when it happens.”

Slater Wants to Stay Involved in the Show
Not only does Slater apparently have no intention of leaving the show any time soon, but even if she’s not asked back as a dancer, she still wants to be involved with the production, saying, “As soon as I feel like I’m going to be choked out, I’ll pull the ageism thing. ‘This is what Hollywood does to women as they age!’”
During her time as a pro dancer on DWTS, Slater has won the Mirrorball trophy once, with Rashad Jennings in Season 24. She also came in fourth place with both Bill Engvall in Season 17 and Drew Scott in Season 25. Most recently, she and Andy Richter finished Season 34 in seventh place.
Over the years, Slater has also been paired with such celebrities as the late James Van Der Beek in Season 28, as well as Trevor Donovan, Mauricio Umansky, and Reginald VelJohnson.
