Ed Sheeran Is Performing at This Year’s ACM Awards

Former The Voice Mega Mentor Ed Sheeran is set to perform at this year’s Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards. You might not associate the singer with country music, but Sheeran said in an announcement video that he’s “super pumped” to appear at the event.

According to Billboard, Sheeran is scheduled to perform at the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards this Thursday, May 11. This will be his first appearance at the annual awards ceremony, although it’s not clear what he’ll be performing.
Producers have reportedly teased that Sheeran will deliver an “electrifying moment” with his performance. The singer recently released his sixth studio album, titled Subtract, and has embarked on a new tour.
On Tuesday, the ACM Awards shared a video of Sheeran announcing his appearance at the upcoming event. As he joked, “Who said the Brits don’t have a little bit of country in them?”
“I’m really excited to be at the Academy of Country Music Awards this week,” Sheeran continued. “This is the first time that I’ll be performing on it, and I am super pumped about it.”

Who Else Is Performing on the Show?
This year’s ACM Awards will take place at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. Other performers set to take the stage during Thursday’s show include Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Morgan Wallen, and more.
The event will be co-hosted by Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton, the latter of whom will reportedly close the show with the lead single from her upcoming new rock album, titled Rockstar. The project will be released on November 17.
On Thursday, Amazon is streaming this year’s show for free to both subscribers and non-subscribers on Prime Video and the Amazon Music Channel on Twitch. The show will also be available to stream for free the next day on Freevee.
