Dancing with the Stars Returns for Halloween Night

Tuesday’s show featured the first 10s of the season, and the judges definitely didn’t skimp. Six out of the remaining seven couples received at least one 10 for their individual performances. Chandler Kinney and Joey Graziadei were tied with the highest score — at 29 out of 30.

Chandler and her partner Brandon Armstrong had immunity from the dance-off this week thanks to their high scores. For their individual dance, they performed a haunting Viennese Waltz to “Secret,” the theme song to Chandler’s show Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. Carrie Ann Inaba nitpicked the routine, giving them a 9, while the other two judges gave them 10s.

Meanwhile, Joey and his partner Jenna Johnson performed a ventriloquism-themed Argentine Tango to “Ramalama (Bang Bang)” by Róisín Murphy. Inaba and Bruno Tonioli both gave the performance a score of 10, while Derek Hough gave them a 9.

Four other couples also received 10s during the show — all from Carrie Ann Inaba. Dwight Howard and Daniella Karagach earned one for their Contemporary, Danny Amendola and Witney Carson for their Argentine Tango, Stephen Nedoroscik and Rylee Arnold for their Contemporary, and Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber also for their Contemporary. All of these couples earned a total score of 28 out of 30.

The Couples Competed in Dance-Offs

This week’s show also featured three dance-offs between couples. First up, Dwight and Daniella danced a Cha-Cha against Ilona Maher and her partner Alan Bersten. The judges chose Dwight and Daniella as the winners of that dance-off.

Meanwhile, Jenn and Sasha went up against Stephen and Rylee with a Salsa. Jenn and Sasha were named the winners of that dance-off. And finally, Joey and Jenna competed against Danny and Witney with a Jive. Joey and Jenna were named the winners.

The winning couple in each dance-off had three bonus points added to their scores. Because Chandler and Brandon earned immunity from the dance-off round, they also received three bonus points. That meant that Chandler and Joey still ended up being tied at the end of the night, with total scores of 32.

Who Was Eliminated This Week?

The lowest score of Tuesday night’s show went to Ilona and Alan, who received a 24 out of 30 for their Tango to “Psycho Killer” by Miley Cyrus. They were the only couple who didn’t receive a 10 during the episode.

However, they didn’t end up being eliminated at the end of the night. After the votes were combined with the judges’ scores, Jenn and Sasha ended up being the ones to go home. This was surprising, considering they earned a 10 from Inaba and won their dance-off.

Six couples now remain in the competition. The show will be off next week due to the presidential election, but it will be back the week after that for a 500th episode celebration. What do you think of this week’s results? Let us know in the comments below.
