David Walliams Makes Fun Of Simon Cowell In His NTA Speech
Reading Time: 1 minutes
We all know that David Walliams and Simon Cowell like to pick on each other in good-natured fun on Britain’s Got Talent, (even though recently it got kind of heated). Still, they generally seem friendly, or at least like they have a friendly rivalry. That carried over into his speech when David Walliams won best TV judge at the National Television Awards over Simon Cowell.
The National Television Awards are roughly equivalent to the Emmys here in the States. Walliams was up against Will.i.Am and Tom Jones from The Voice UK and Paul Hollywood on the popular The Great British Bakeoff. But it was his victory over fellow BGT judge Simon Cowell which brought the most joy to David. He said,
“I don’t look upon this as a victory for me. I look upon this as a humiliation for Simon Cowell. All he does is judge. He can’t sing, he can’t dance, he doesn’t tell jokes. He just sits there saying no to everyone. Anybody can do that.”
Jokes aside, I bet that Simon was fuming over this. That guy can hold a grudge. Like, forever.
